Kane Brown Day: Singer Receives Key to the City of Chattanooga Ahead of ‘Monumental’ Hometown Stadium Concert

Kane Brown is making his hometown of Chattanooga, Tenn. proud with his success, so much so, that the city is honoring the “Like I Love Country Music” singer for his achievements with a key to the city, proclaiming May 7 Kane Brown Day, and naming a road after him.
According to WDEF, just one day before performing his first-ever stadium show at Chattanooga’s Finley Stadium, Brown was awarded the key to the city from Hamilton County Mayor Jim Coppinger. Coppinger, along with Chattanooga Mayor Tim Kelly, also declared that May 7 is Kane Brown Day.
“We know his fans are plentiful in this area and it gives them an opportunity to see him,” said Mayor Coppinger. “So, again, it’s just a small part that we’re playing in showing hospitality.”
“Chattanooga’s got a long history of producing great musical talent and too many times, we didn’t recognize them until they were already out and moved on in life,” Mayor Kelly said. “We’re super proud of Kane Brown and want to give the credit that he’s due now.”
Additionally, pending approval from the city council, Chattanooga will name a road after him — Honorary Kane Brown Parkway.
Tennessee State Representative Yusuf Hakeem shared that he thinks Brown’s stadium concert will be “monumental” and most likely the “largest concert” in the city’s history. Hakeem also said that he believes Brown’s story is a major inspiration for the region’s children.
“I think it also says to our young people, you know, God has given us all talents and blessings,” Hakeem added. “One of his purposes in life is to share that talent with others.”
Brown, who hasn’t played his hometown in over six years,is thrilled to make his return to the Scenic City.
“I had my hardest times here in Chattanooga, had my best times here in Chattanooga — it just made me the man I am today,” Brown told WDEF. “I wouldn’t change it for the world. Like I said, my friends and my family are from here and all my memories. I wouldn’t trade anything for Chattanooga.”
The news comes just one day after Brown released his new single, “Like I Love Country Music,” which name-checks several country music icons such as Alan Jackson, Brooks & Dunn, Willie Nelson, and more.

Additionally, Brown recently announced a massive international tour, dubbed the Drunk or Dreaming Tour. The trek will feature special guests Restless Road, Jessie James Decker, Blanco Brown and Chris Lane on select dates. Kicking off on September 17 in Melbourne, Australia, the tour will continue through Australia, New Zealand, Canada, UK, and Europe.
