Country superstar Kane Brown and his wife, Katelyn, have captured the hearts of fans worldwide with their undeniable chemistry and adorable family. As one of country music’s most beloved couples, they often invite fans into their personal world through candid glimpses of their life at home, especially with their children, shared on social media. However, amid the affectionate posts and exciting family updates, the curiosity may linger among fans: how did Kane and Katelyn’s love story unfold, and what are the milestones that led them to become the dynamic duo they are today? Here’s a look into their fairytale love story.
How Did Kane Brown Meet His Wife?
Many fans may not realize that music is what brought Kane and Katelyn together. She was pursuing a solo career and they happened to have mutual connections.
“Me and Kane met through music,” she recalled during an appearance on the Get Real with Caroline Hobby podcast. “My mom was taking me to auditions. I loved musicals and when I was about 18-19 I was living in Orlando with my manager. Kane was just starting out and we were working with the same producer out of Atlanta. I was recording down in Miami.”
Because of conflicting schedules, Kane couldn’t take part in Katelyn’s music video. However, that was far from the end of their story. According to Katelyn, they met a year later.
“Everything happened fast. It was instant,” she explained. “He just moved to Nashville and he was like, ‘come up here.’ We had the best time in the entire world. It was so spontaneous.”
When Did Katelyn Realize Kane Was “The One?”
Following that weekend in Music City, Katelyn never looked back. “We had the best weekend,” she said. “Hung out with all of his friends and I never left.” In fact, she admitted that she realized Kane was “the one” during this trip to Nashville.
“We went to Bar Louie in The Gulch and he was sitting across from me talking to me and I wasn’t listening because I was staring at him,” she remembered. “I was like, ‘I’m marrying you.’ He was just cool and didn’t try. He was so chill and normal. I was like, ‘you are my person.’”
In early 2017, Kane Brown took to his social media accounts to publicly profess his love and appreciation for his then-girlfriend, Katelyn.
“I know a lot has been going good for me this past year, but being away from my family and friends it’s been tough,” he wrote at the time. “Luckily I found my other half. I know a lot of people might get mad I’m in a relationship but if you’re a true fan u won’t. She keeps me Sane, she keeps me happy she’s my girl. God Bless.”
Engagement
A few months later, Brown decided to take their relationship to the next level. He planned out a romantic proposal, complete with rose petals and all, but the night before the big day, he decided he couldn’t wait another second. While watching The Amityville Horror, Brown asked Katelyn to marry him. She said “yes” and they set the wedding date for the fall of 2018.
Wedding
The couple exchanged vows in front of about 200 guests at Mint Springs Farm in Nolensville, Tennessee on October 12, 2018, and this stunning location couldn’t have been more perfect for the couple.
“We wanted something here in Nashville and loved the idea of having it at home and not traveling since we are on the road so much,” the pair shared with People. “It’s not too rural but has so many elements of nature — a huge lake, rolling hills, trees. It’s just beautiful out there.”
As Brown’s celebrity status continues to grow, he and Katelyn always make a point to make time for each other.
“We prioritize time together and make sure to have as much normalcy as possible with date nights and nights at home with our dogs,” they explained. “And we have a great appreciation for each other and respect each of our careers and time to do their thing as well. We love each other but are also friends — it’s so important to have that balance.”
Date nights have become less frequent for the couple as they are now parents to two adorable daughters, Kingsley Rose, and Kodi Jane, and are expecting a third child in 2024.
Children
Kingsley Rose joined their family on October 29, 2019. Since then, she has become an internet sensation as fans are constantly gushing over her adorable photos on Instagram. Brown is always gushing over Kingsley and once told Audacy’s Katie & Company “her personality is off the chart.”
After a secret pregnancy, Kane and Katelyn welcomed Kodi Jane into the world on December 31, 2021. Her pregnancy was kept completely under wraps, so this came as a huge shock to fans. Katelyn later elaborated on her decision to keep this pregnancy private, writing, “These past 9 months have been so sacred and special to me. Choosing to keep my pregnancy quiet was the best decision I’ve ever made.”
On Christmas day in 2023, they announced that Katelyn was pregnant again and weeks later shared the exciting news that they were expecting a baby boy. While they have yet to publicly share his name, Katelyn previously stated that they have decided on a name for their son and that they will be keeping with the KB theme.
“Thank God” And More Duets In The Works
With a shared love of music, Kane and Katelyn finally combined their talents with the release of the duet “Thank God” in 2022. This song was a massive hit at radio and on streaming and undoubtedly took Kane’s career to new heights. The pair even teamed up to perform the beautiful ballad during the 2023 CMT Music Awards where they took home the night’s top honor of Video of the Year for their passion-filled “Thank God” music video. Now, Katelyn travels with Kane on tour and performs the song with him nearly every single night on stage.
According to Kane, they have three more duets on the way, however, fans will have to stand by for further details.
