Kane Brown just released “Miles On It,” a brand new collaboration with Marshmello, and reveals that the song, along with a few other collaborations, caused him to pause and rethink his plans for his forthcoming new album.

During a conversation with Country Now while backstage of his 2024 In The Air Tour, Brown gave us an update on the project, which will serve as the follow-up to 2022’s Different Man, and revealed that he initially set out to release a more traditional country-leaning album, however, a few new collaborations fell into his lap and have potentially changed the album’s overall vibe.

“I keep getting songs and I’m like, ‘This is it’, and I have so many. I was trying to go to the country route where everything’s super country, but then we just get these other collabs that are just massive,” Brown explained.

Of “Miles On It,” the soon-to-be father of three shared how the collab came about and revealed that his team can’t get enough of the song.

“Mellow just came back in and was like, ‘You ready for part two?’ And we wrote a song. My band just keeps saying, ‘Yo, will you send me that song? I want to listen to it.’ It is just a massive song.”

While having a lot of songs to chose from is ultimately a good problem to have, Brown said that it is a bit daunting to make the final selections for a record.

“It’s really going to be hard trying to find out which ones we’re going to put on the album,” he admitted.

While a release date is still unknown, fans have gotten a taste of a few tracks that will likely appear on the yet-to-be-announced album: his chart-topping “I Can Feel It,” the extremely personal track, “Haunted,” and the brand new “Miles On It.”

This marks the second collaboration between Brown and the Grammy-nominated artist and producer, following 2019’s “One Thing Right.” This song went on to rake in over 1.3 billion streams worldwide and is now certified 5x platinum.

The artists will likely enjoy a similar trajectory with “Miles On It.” Released just in time for summer, the upbeat anthem features an irresistible melody set to addictive beats.

“Girl, let’s go put some miles on it/ Back of the Chevy with the engine runnin’/ Just you and me in a truck bed wide like a California King/ We could break it in if you know what I mean/ Put some miles on it/ Back of the Chevy with the engine runnin’/ Just you and me in a truck bed wide like a California King/ Wе could break it in if you know what I mean/ Put some milеs on it/ We could break it in if you know what I mean,” Brown sings on the chorus.
