Growing up, country star Kane Brown was raised by his mother, aunt and grandmother. Now that he’s rising kids of his own with his wife, Katelyn, he has embraced his role as a girl dad, and he wouldn’t have it any other way.

The singer recently appeared on CBS Mornings for an exclusive interview with Gayle King from his home to talk about new music and fatherhood. While catching up, Brown discussed being a dad and gave some insight into what life has been like around the house with his two daughters Kingsley, 2, and Kodi, 10 months.

In talking about the expectations he had set for himself before becoming a father, he said he “always knew that I was gonna try to be there.”

“I just always wanted to give them the life that I never had,” Brown added.

After talking about the recent collaboration with his wife titled, “Thank God,” the couple’s oldest daughter, Kingsley, popped into the interview to make her presence known. Brown shared that his daughter, whom he calls his “best friend,” definitely keeps things interesting around the house.

“She’s just fun, she makes my days better,” he said.

The lovebirds tied the knot in October 2018, welcomed Kingsley to their family one year later and on December 30, 2022, their baby girl Kodi was born.

Brown and his wife celebrated their newest addition by getting tattoos. The country singer opted for their daughter’s first name, and Katelyn went with her first and middle name. It’s no surprise that they got new inks for little Kodi Jane as they did the same for their first daughter, Kingsley Rose.

The mom and dad recently got to enjoy a night out when they attended the 2022 CMT Artists of the Year celebration at Nashville’s Schermerhorn Symphony Center on Oct. 12. Not only were they there to support Brown, who was a nominee and a performer, but it also happened to land on their 4th anniversary

The couple each took to social media to showcase photos of the night while also expressing their love for one another.

“Happy Anniversary, I love you more and more every day ” she wrote in her caption while the hubby said, “Happy anniversary and Thank God I found you  the best mama to our girls and wifey I could ask for ”

With the release of his latest full-length project, Different Man, Brown has continued to prove that he is not slowing down anytime soon, even with the two little ones keeping him on his toes at all times.

Brown is currently on the road for the international leg of his Drunk or Dreaming Tour, which includes shows in Australia, New Zealand, Canada, UK, and Europe.

Following this trek that is set to conclude on January 31, the country star will embark on the U.S. leg of his Drunk or Dreaming Tour, which features special guests Dustin Lynch, Gabby Barrett and Locash on select dates. This stint of shows will kick off in Grand Rapids, MI on March 16, 2023, and will visit 23 cities throughout the United States before wrapping up in Greenwood Village, CO at Fiddler’s Green Amphitheatre on Saturday, June 10, 2023.

Kane Brown is next scheduled to perform on October 28 in Cincinnati, OH.
