Kelly Clarkson shared a stunning cover of Lady A’s Grammy-winning hit, “Need You Now” and fans are loving it.
The superstar released the performance earlier this week as part of the “Kellyoke” segment on The Kelly Clarkson Show.
Clarkson’s pristine vocals took center stage during the performance as she was accompanied by a single piano player. While the arrangement was similar to the original, Clarkson’s rendition was performed more like a ballad and somehow felt even more emotional than Lady A’s version.
“Need You Now” was written by Lady A’s Hillary Scott, Charles Kelley and Dave Haywood alongside Josh Kear. It remains the trio’s most successful single to date and is a multi-week chart-topper. In 2011, “Need You Now” won four Grammy awards, including Song of the Year and Record of the Year.

This performance is one of several country covers Clarkson has shared in recent weeks, following Billy Currington’s “Let Me Down Easy,” Faith Hill’s “It Matters To Me,” Pam Tillis’ “Maybe It Was Memphis,” Wynonna’s “No One Else On Earth” and Jo Dee Messina’s “Heads Carolina, Tails California.
Previous “Kellyoke” segments have featured covers of Blake Shelton, Johnny Cash, Jason Aldean, Rascal Flatts, Travis Tritt, Shania Twain, Carrie Underwood and Kelsea Ballerini (just to name a few).
