Kelly Clarkson is gearing up to release a few Christmas songs and one of them happens to be a duet with Brett Eldredge.
The superstar shared the news during an extensive interview on NBC’s “Sunday TODAY with Willie Geist” podcast. After revealing plans to release a new, full-length album next year, Clarkson revealed that she has two new Christmas songs on the way for the upcoming holiday season.
“I actually have a couple Christmas things dropping too, that were very random,” she said. “A duet with Brett Eldredge, who I love, that I wrote, and a cover song. So it’s like an A/B side thing that’s coming out for Christmas.”
The three-time Grammy winner went on to share that she decided to release something for the holidays in an effort to hold fans over until more new music comes out in 2021.
“Fans are always asking, ‘can you just drop anything?’ Everyone is sad. Everyone is feeling it,” she said, adding that her fans are telling her, “The world has gone to crap, can you just release something?”
While the title of the Clarkson/Eldredge duet has yet to be released, it’s likely going to be an instant hit as both singers have previously released successful Christmas recordings. Clarkson released a holiday album, Wrapped in Red, in 2013, while Eldredge debuted his Christmas collection, Glow, in 2016.
