Kelly Clarkson covered Trisha Yearwood’s “Walkaway Joe” during The Kelly Clarkson Show this week.

The superstar offered up a stunning cover of the 1992 country hit during the “Kellyoke” segment and had her powerful pipes on full display she belted out the emotional lyrics.

The original recording of the song featured Yearwood alongside the Eagles’ Don Henley. “Walkaway Joe” was co-written by Vince Melamed and Greg Barnhi and peaked at the No. 2 spot on the Billboard country charts. Since its 1992 release, the timeless ballad has been covered by many artists, including Carrie Underwood with Kelsea Ballerini and Brandon Lay.

The official “Walkaway Joe” music video features a young Matthew McConaughey.

Clarkson and Yearwood are longtime friends and previously collaborated on Clarkson’s Christmas album, Wrapped In Red
