Kelly Clarkson delivered a beautiful cover of Kacey Musgraves’ “Rainbow” on The Kelly Clarkson Show on Friday (Jan. 8).

The superstar performed the hopeful tune as part of her fan-favorite “Kellyoke” segment on her talk show.

Clarkson’s powerful vocals shined bright throughout the song, which serves as a message of hope to anyone experiencing tough times.

“‘Cause the sky has finally opened/ The rain and wind stopped blowin’/ But you’re stuck out in the same ol’ storm again/ You hold tight to your umbrella/ Well, darlin’, I’m just tryin’ to tell ya/ That there’s always been a rainbow hangin’ over your head,” goes the chorus.

“Rainbow” was released as the fifth single from Musgraves’ GRAMMY-winning album, Golden Hour. The song was nominated for Song of the Year at the CMA Awards and Single of the Year at the ACM Awards.
