Kelly Clarkson served up some sass with a lively cover The Chicks‘ “Sin Wagon” on the latest episode of The Kelly Clarkson Show.
Clarkson’s performance was part of her popular “Kellyoke” segment and featured the superstar alongside her house band. Clarkson’s rendition of the fiery tune remains similar to the original and showcases a bit of her Texas twang.
“Praise the Lord and pass the ammunition/ Need a little bit more of my twelve-ounce nutrition/ One more helpin’ of what I’ve been havin’/ I’m takin’ my turn on the sin wagon,” she sings on the chorus.
“Sin Wagon” was co-written by Natalie Maines, Emily Erwin and Stephony Smith and appears on The Chicks’ 1999 album, Fly. The song was never a single but remains one of the trio’s most popular tracks to date.

This performance is one of several country covers Clarkson has shared on the show, including Billy Currington’s “Let Me Down Easy,” Faith Hill’s “It Matters To Me,” Pam Tillis’ “Maybe It Was Memphis,” Wynonna’s “No One Else On Earth” and Jo Dee Messina’s “Heads Carolina, Tails California.
Previous “Kellyoke” segments have featured covers of Blake Shelton, Johnny Cash, Lady A, Rascal Flatts, Travis Tritt, Shania Twain, Carrie Underwood and Kelsea Ballerini (just to name a few).
