Just days before the much-anticipated release of her third studio album, Kelsea Ballerini took to social media to share that her album release week is “gonna look a lot different then we had planned for and hoped for and dreamed up.” This change comes as the coronavirus outbreak worsens across the globe and governments are urging people to stay inside and practice “social distancing.”

“My album still comes out Friday, which I am so excited about, like more than I can even say. However, this release week is gonna look a lot different then we had planned for and hoped for and dreamed up. I really wanted there to be so many moments and opportunities for me face-to-face play these songs for you for the first time and hug as many of you as possible” Ballerini explained holding back tears in a video.

“But,” she continued, “what I care about more than that is everyone staying safe and staying healthy so a lot of our plans have changed. The silver lining is that I feel and really believe that music can bring a lot of peace when things feel really unsettled and it could make you feel calm when life feels chaotic.”

She went on to explain how she hopes her music will bring fans some relief during these times of uncertainty.

“I really love this album and I hope that there is something on it that makes you feel those things and I really promise that when everything that’s happening right now passes and calms down, we will bring all of our plans back to life,” she promised fans. “It’s just not in the timeline that we had pictured and that’s okay but I love you guys and I can’t wait to hear what you think about this album.”

Ballerini signed off by telling fans “please stay safe” and promised that she will be “around on the social medias, so just holler.”

Ballerini’s third studio album, kelsea, is set to be released on March 20. Her CMT Crossroads episode with Halsey will air just days later, on March 25 at 10 PM ET/PT on CMT.
