Lauren Alaina will be gracing the small screen yet again later this year in a brand new Hallmark movie.

Directed by Paul Ziller, Roadhouse Romance premieres on Saturday, September 11 at 9PM, kicking off Hallmark’s 2021 Fall Harvest programming event.

The “Getting Over Him” singer shared her excitement over her new role on Instagram earlier this week with a photo of herself and her co-star, Tyler Hynes.

Hynes is no stranger to the film industry and has been a part of projects including Sweet Carolina, Letterkenny, On the 12th Date of Christmas, Winter in Vail, The Mistletoe Secret, UnREAL, 19-2, Valemont and The Firm.

According to Deadline.com, the storyline follows “Lieutenant Callie Jackson (Alaina) who returns home after a military tour, expecting everything to pick up right where she left it. To her dismay, her late Grandfather’s BBQ is struggling, and her high school sweetheart has moved on. She has a run-in with Luke (Hynes), a TV director passing through town, who teaches her that sometimes it’s best to look forward instead of looking back.”

The CMT Award-winning artist will perform her songs “Run” and “What Do You Think” in the film.

Roadhouse Romance won’t be the the American Idol alum’s first time taking on an acting role. After filming Road Less Traveled in 2017, the singer realized that singing wasn’t her only passion.

“I got to express myself in a whole new way as a different person on camera, in a different way as an actress, and I loved it,” she shared with Taste of Country. “I can’t wait to do more.”
