Jade Eagleson has enhanced his classic country sound with added grit and authenticity by joining forces with Texas native, Jake Worthington, on a fresh take of his song “Do It Anyway.”
The hit tune was penned by Ashley Gorley, Chase McGill and Matt Jenkins and originally appeared as the title track on Eagleson’s critically acclaimed album of 2023. Now, he is returning to airwaves with a new version that further cements the pair of rising star’s pride for the old school honky tonk anthems.
“I really appreciate what Jake is doing for Country music, and I have wanted to collaborate with him since I first heard his music. I’m grateful that he wanted to jump on this new version of the song with me,” shared Eagleson. “’Do It Anyway’ is a song that deeply resonates with me – it feels like it was written about me. Getting to cut a song from legends Chase McGill, Matt Jenkins and Ashley Gorley was definitely an added bonus.”
“When Jade asked if I would join him on the song, it was an easy yes,” added Worthington. “I am a fan of what he’s doing and the good ole Country music he’s making.”
Honoring Old School Country Sound
Eagleson couldn’t have selected a better duet partner than Worthington, as they both have built a career on staying true to themselves in their music and ignored the suggestions from others to modernize their sounds in order to stay up to date with the current trends. Just as the song suggests, they are digging their boots into this belief and calling listeners to the dance floor with a fiddle-laced melody reminiscent of the beloved era of 90s country music.
Through their rich vocals, Eagleson and Worthington celebrate all the things they love about getting to live an authentic country lifestyle.
“Anyway I want/ The only way that I know how/ Yeah the way I’ve always done it/ Is the way I do it now/ I’m here to have a good time/ I ain’t got no time to waste/ I know that it could all be over any day/ So I do it anyways,” they sing on the chorus.
Eagleson To Make Grand Ole Opry Debut
Along with the excitement of dropping his latest single after earning his fourth No. 1 at Canadian Country radio earlier this summer, Eagleson also recently shared the news that he will be making his Grand Ole Opry debut on October 18. His wife, Marina and fist son, Levi, had the pleasure of sharing this milestone moment with him in their home, using a cake that had an image of the Opry drawn on top in frosting.
“The past few weeks have really been hard to believe – I’m watching some of my wildest dreams come true,” shared Eagleson. “Playing on the Opry stage has been something I’ve wanted to do since I first picked up a guitar.”
The six-time CCMA nominee has had a busy summer on the road and he’s showing no signs of slowing down. He has multiple festivals across Canada in store in addition to opening dates with Cody Johnson this fall. He has also been tapped to perform during Country Music Week in Edmonton for the CCMA Legends Show and on the 2024 CCMA Awards national broadcast on September 14.
