Morgan Wallen is keeping a fan-favorite tradition alive with the announcement of The Shop Sessions, a new series offering acoustic versions of tracks from his upcoming I’m The Problem album. First up is an unplugged rendition of “Just In Case.”
Recorded with his band inside an old auto shop, the session strips the song down to its emotional, slow-burning storyline capturing the turmoil of moving on.

“Found a badass old auto shop and recorded some songs from the new album with my band. The first one, “Just In Case (The Shop Sessions),” is out now,” he wrote in a new video on Instagram.
Wallen’s signature vocals are front and center as he tells the story of someone stuck between holding on and letting go. The character at hand finds himself hesitating to fall for someone new because he’s quietly hoping his ex will come back around.
Wallen sings, “I never let my heart go all the way/ Every time I try I just hit the brakes/ And there’s always a couple tryin’ to take your place/ But I never fall in love baby just in case/ You wake up wantin’ me outta the blue/ You lay down needin’ what I used to do/ Yeah every now and then I go get a taste/ But I never fall in love baby just in case/ Just in case.”
Co-written by Wallen, John Byron, Jacob Kasher Hindlin, Ryan Vojtesak, Josh Thompson, Blake Pendergrass, and Alex Bak, “Just In Case” adds showcases layer to the East Tennessee native’s vulnerable and reflective side that appears to be coming out stronger than ever on his upcoming album.
This isn’t the first time Wallen has put a fresh spin on album tracks in a stripped-back setting. He also previously released acoustic versions of his 2021 project, Dangerous: The Double Album, with “The Dangerous Sessions” as well as “One Record At A Time Sessions,” which included stripped down versions of songs from his latest album, One Thing at a Time.
In The Shop Sessions, the “Smile” singer strips things down, letting his raw vocals and songwriting take center stage without the distraction of heavy production.

Morgan Wallen’s I’m The Problem album is set to arrive May 16 with 37 tracks that find him digging deeper into his personal emotions and experiences than ever before. The full track list has yet to be reveled, however, fans got a sneak peek when he teased several of the unreleased titles during his guest appearance on NBC’s Saturday Night Live.
The acoustic version of “Just In Case” joins the previously released studio version as well as songs like “Love Somebody,” “Smile,” “Lies Lies Lies,” “I’m A Little Crazy” and the title track. Plus, he also recently teased that an unannounced female voice will appear on the track, “What I Want.”
Fans have limited opportunities to see Morgan Wallen live in 2025, with his only performances being at his inaugural, all-genre Sand In My Boots Festival in May and his 20-show I’m The Problem Tour .
