Nate Smith has made history with his fan-favorite single, “Bulletproof.” Today, it was announced that the hard-hitting breakup anthem has landed at No. 1 on country radio for the second consecutive week. This marks Smith’s third consecutive multi-week No. 1 record on the Mediabase chart, thus making him the first artist in R&R/Mediabase history to rack up three consecutive multi-week No. 1 records this early on in their careers.

Prior to the success of “Bulletproof,” Smith was recognized for his record-breaking No. 1 record “World On Fire,” which spent 10 consecutive weeks on top of the Billboard Country Airplay Chart and three weeks on top of the Mediabase chart. Before that, he earned his first-ever No. 1 single with “Whiskey On You” which spent two weeks atop the Mediabase chart and one week on the Billboard Country Airplay chart.  The ACM New Male Artist of the Year’s first three singles have collectively spent 14 weeks at No. 1 between the two charts.

The “Whiskey On You” singer shared the news with fans in a heartfelt video shared via Instagram.

What makes this achievement even more remarkable is that Smith has stayed true to his mission of sharing his authentic self through his music, and his career has made great strides as a result.

“When I write and record music, I genuinely do it for me,” Smith said in a recent release.  “I try to make music that I would want to listen to! Maybe it will connect with other people and maybe it won’t. So, you can imagine having three songs that have gone number one, truly feels like a massive honor. Radio has really given me a chance and I’m grateful for all the lifelong friendships I have built with them and continue to foster. There are so many new artists, so I do believe this is a miracle.”

Scoring these hit songs doesn’t just impact Nate Smith, but also his family and all those who have helped him along the way. He went from working as a certified nursing assistant and losing everything to a fire in his hometown of Paradise, CA to seeing his name in lights around the world as a full-time singer/songwriter. This journey has included many late nights and tough moments, but Smith has pushed through it all, and he’s incredibly proud of his perseverance.

He continued, “Number ones allow me take better care of my teams and my family! I never thought in a million years this would be a possibility for me, but here we are. I thank God for pulling me out of the wreckage and letting me be a vessel, to bring hopeful songs to the hearts of people. I guess it truly is never too late to follow your dreams especially when it lines up with His will.”
