Old Dominion has been selected as this year’s recipients of the Angels Among Us award in honor of their years of dedication and support towards the mission of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital®: Finding cures. Saving children.
Their remarkable commitment to the cause began in 2016 when they attended their first annual Country Cares Seminar after signing to RCA Records Nashville. Since then, the band has found different ways to stay involved in various events benefitting St. Jude, from participating in seven #ThisShirtSavesLives campaigns, playing the Bobby Bones Million Dollar Show, lending their songs to support fundraising and performing at numerous fundraising events.
Additionally, they have offered up their time to visit with patients, hear their stories and spread awareness on the importance of the ongoing mission.
“It’s truly humbling to be awarded the Angels Among Us honor by St. Jude,” said Old Dominion’s Matthew Ramsey. “The patients and families of St. Jude inspire us deeply. By uniting with fellow artists and Country radio fans, we want to help make sure that no family receives a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food so they can focus on helping their child live. Supporting such a remarkable mission is a privilege, and we are thankful to be part of it.”
The Six-time ACM Award Group of Year Old joins a star-studded list of past winners including Randy Owen, Brothers Osborne, Scotty McCreery, Florida Georgia Line, Lady A, Jake Owen, Brad Paisley and Darius Rucker.
35th Annual Country Cares Seminar
The band will receive its award at the 35th annual Country Cares Seminar, taking place Oct. 21 – 22 at the historic Peabody Hotel in Memphis, Tenn. This yearly event welcomes artists and industry professionals to join together so that they may use their voices and various platforms to help raise funds and awareness for St. Jude.
Four-time ACM Award nominee Jon Pardi will kick off the two-day event with a performance at the iconic Graceland. Multi-Platinum singer-songwriter Megan Moroney will then help close things out with a special performance at the Angels Among Us dinner, followed by Old Dominion’s set, which will feature a duet with Alabama frontman and Country Cares founder, Randy Owen.
The Power Of Music
Music is an integral part of St. Jude for several reasons. In addition to bringing families together to share their passion for the art in an uplifting way, it also plays a vital role in the world-class treatment and therapy that St. Jude kids receive in an effort to help reduce their pain and ease their anxierty during physical therapy sessions.
Music Gives to St. Jude Kids® is one of the most successful music fundraising events in the United States. By working with over 350 radio and music partners, more than $70M is raised annually towards accelerating research and treatment by St. Jude to help children with cancer and other life-threatening diseases.

Follows The Release Of Old Dominion’s New Song, “Coming Home”
This news comes hot on the heels on the release of Old Dominion’s new song, “Coming Home.” The fresh release finds the band sharing a vulnerable message about the struggles of having to be away from loved ones for long periods of time and the desire to be reunited. For them, the tune relates to their life on the road as wildly successful artists, however through recent social media posts, they have revealed that the song can hold meaning for people in many different ways.
“I think everyone at some point suffers from that separation desperation,” Matthew Ramsey says. “You’re living your life; you know what you’re doing is totally worth it. But then when you turn the truck, car, bus or airplane home, there’s this energy that sweeps over you – and it feels good.”
“Coming Home” was officially sent to radio upon its release and marks the group’s first taste of new music since 2023’s Memory Lane project.
Fans can next Old Dominion at the Watershed festival in George, WA on August 2, followed by several more festival dates booked throughout the remainder of the year and into 2025.
