Parker McCollum and fellow Texan Miranda Lambert have a long history of supporting each other through their careers, so it’s no surprise that he jumped on the chance to be featured on her forthcoming new album, Postcards From Texas.
On Wednesday morning, Lambert unveiled details for her next project, using piles of physical postcards that cleverly showed the titles that will appear on the 14-track collection. This also revealed that McCollum is the only featured guest on the project. His name is written under the song “Santa Fe” on a brown postcard that offers a scenic rendering of the desert terrain of New Mexico.
The “Burn It Down” singer took to X (formerly Twitter) one day after Lambert’s announcement to express just how much this opportunity means to him.
“Absolutely honored to be a part of this album,” he wrote. “Been a huge fan of Miranda since I was just a kid so to have the opportunity to collab with her is truly a dream come true. One of the greatest talents this business has ever seen.”

This may be their first time collaborating on a song, but as he said in his statement, the Gold Chain Cowboy has been a longtime fan of Lambert. McCollum previously dubbed her “the Dolly [Parton] of our era” after learning that she sold out four shows at the legendary Billy Bob’s Texas in 2021. He also purchased his own ticket to go see her Velvet Rodeo The Las Vegas Residency and even admitted to buying some of her merch.
In his review of the show he praised her for putting an “absolutely remarkable performance” and for being “an even better person,” before adding that she “deserves nothing but respect.”
The “If I Was A Cowboy” singer has also reciprocated the support and high praise for McCollum over the years. She showed how much she believes in the hitmaker when she surprised him via video chat in March of 2022 to tell him the news that he had won the title of ACM New Male Artist Of The Year ahead of the 57th Academy Of Country Music Awards.
McCollum, who was under the impression that he was hoppoing on Zoom for an interview at the time, was clearly shocked to see Lambert on the other end of the call. When she appeared on the screen, McCollum looked to be confused at first, but moments later he was in shock hearing her news.
Lambert said she was “real proud” and “happy” for McCollum’s accomplishment as well as the fact that he was the one representing their home state.
“This one’s for Texas no doubt, this is wild,” he added at the end of the clip.
After all the years of support they have given each other, getting to record a song together for an album that celebrates Lambert’s deep roots in their home state is truly a special moment for the artists. Fans will get to hear “Santa Fe” upon the official album release on September 13. Until then, they can get a glimpse into the project through songs like “Wranglers,” “Dammit Randy” and her latest release, “Alimony.”
Meanwhile, Parker McCollum has a few more shows on the books before taking some time off to welcome his first son with his wife, Hallie Ray Light. His Burn It Down Tour will pick back up on August 23 in Rio Rancho, NM.
