Platinum-selling country star Parker McCollum and his wife, Hallie Ray Light are expecting their first baby!

On Wednesday (Feb. 7), the couple made the announcement in a joint post on Instagram using a stunning photo taken on their recent tropical getaway to St. John, U.S. Virgin Islands. The parents-to-be are seen sharing a kiss in front of the warm sunset while wearing their bathing suits. Hallie Ray is captured holding her stomach to signal her growing baby bump.

“God’s little blessing. We Iove you so much already, Baby M,” she wrote, while McCollum hilariously commented, “Wow! Awesome news! So happy to hear about this! I love you babe! Congrats!”

The news comes a few weeks after the “Handle On You” raised suspicions about a possible baby on the way when he announced the cancellation of a single show that was due to take place six months away.

“Due to unforeseen circumstances we will be canceling our show in College Station on August 30th, 2024. All tickets will be refunded at the point of purchase. Ticket buyers will receive refund information by email from the box office.”

At the end of his message, he also noted that the reason for having to cancel the show comes as a result of some “exciting news” that he planned to announce “in the near future.”

The comment section of this video was flooded with fans making guesses like “Is your wife pregnant ???” And after his most recent announcement, it turns out they were correct.

How Did The Pair Meet?

The lovebirds were first introduced to each other through a friend, but McCollum revealed to Country Now that Light wasn’t so sure about the Texas singer at first.

“We were both young and probably weren’t ready for it, but a buddy of mine had been telling me about her and I just really liked her name Hallie Ray Light. I started trying to put that name in a song before I’d even met her,” Parker McCollum explained. “Then she ended up coming out to a show and didn’t stick around too long. I don’t think she liked me a whole lot, but I was still pretty hell-bent on writing that song and putting her name in it.”

He added, “I ended up kind of writing a song over the course of trying to get her attention. We were talking a little bit back and forth, here and there and that’s kind of where I was stealing stuff for lines in that song. So It’s all pretty true.”

After deciding to come to see him play and hearing the song he wrote with her name as the title and bits and pieces of their story intertwined in it, Light decided to give it a shot.

“I think we started dating that night,” he shared.

They were forced to endure a long-distance relationship for some time while Hallie Ray pursued her career in nursing and Parker McCollum was putting his all into music. While they did break up for some time, they were fortunate enough to find their way back to each other.

The couple tied the knot on March 28, 2022 at Boxwood Manor in Tomball, Texas after McCollum popped the question in July of 2021.
