Post Malone solidified his country cred in Nashville on Tuesday evening (July 16) when he took the stage at Marathon Music Works for “A Night in Nashville,” presented by Bud Light.
The 9x Diamond certified artist delivered an hour-long set during the exclusive, one-night-only event, offering fans a preview of his eagerly awaited debut country album, F-1 Trillion. He also performed countrified versions of his biggest hits, including “Circles,” “Sunflower,” and “Rockstar.”
Taking the stage just after 8:30, the genre-bending star casually strolled on, seating himself on a stool with a Bud Light in one hand and a cigarette in the other. Welcoming fans to the show, Posty promised a fun-filled night and teased plenty of surprises.
He exceeded expectations by featuring four special guests during the show, the first being country superstar Blake Shelton. They performed their new single, “Pour Me A Drink,” and later collaborated on Shelton’s 2004 hit, “Some Beach.” Despite Shelton joking that no one in the audience would remember the song, the crowd proved him wrong by singing along to every word.
As the night continued, another surprise guest joined Post Malone: chart-topping country singer, Joe Nichols. Showcasing Post Malone’s appreciation for traditional country music, they collaborated on Nichols’ iconic country hit, “Brokenheartsville.”
One of the night’s most unforgettable moments occurred when Post Malone delivered a heartfelt rendition of “Yours,” a song he wrote for his daughter. The unreleased tune is destined to become a timeless favorite at weddings as it tells the story of the bittersweet moment of a father giving his daughter away on her wedding day.
“And she might be wearing white, but her first dress, it was pink/ She might be your better half, yeah, but she’s my everything/ We’ll both love her forever, but I loved her long before/ And one day I know I’ll give her away/ Buddy, that don’t mean she’s yours,” he sings on the chorus.
This song embodies all the elements of a true country hit and proves Post Malone’s foray into country music isn’t just a faze. He wants to be here. In fact, we’ll go on the record saying he’s meant to be here.
Another highlight of the evening was surprise guest Sierra Ferrell, who joined Posty for two songs, including an unreleased track and a cover of Johnny Cash and June Carter Cash’s “Jackson.”
The final guest of the night was HARDY, who previously teamed up with Post Malone during the 2023 CMA Awards. The pair performed a track that’s expected to appear on F-1 Trillion as well as the Joe Diffie classic, “Prop Me Up Beside the Jukebox (If I Die).”
“A Night In Nashville” with Post Malone closed out on a high note as the GRAMMY nominee delivered an energetic performance of his multi-week chart-topping single, “I Had Some Help.” Although Morgan Wallen wasn’t on hand to join him, Posty turned up the energy by leaving his seat and engaging with the crowd. The singer entertained fans with his infamous dance moves while making his way through the audience, handing out high-fives and fist bumps.
Post Malone will return to Nashville later this fall on his headlining F-1 Trillion Tour. This trek will visit stadiums, festivals, and amphitheaters around the U.S. beginning Sunday, September 8. The Music City date will take place at Nissan Stadium on October 19.
The tour comes in support of Posty’s F-1 Trillion album, which is set to release on August 16.
