Rising country star Riley Green burst onto the scene in 2018 with his debut smash “There Was This Girl.” The song, with its ’90s country influence and clever storytelling, was an instant hit among fans and critics alike. The infectious track eventually made its way up the charts, earning Green his very first No.1 single.
He’s back at country radio now with the follow-up release, “In Love By Now,” and he’s got a slot on one of this summer’s hottest tours – Brad Paisley’s 2019 World Tour.
The opportunity to join Paisley on tour was something Green jumped at for many reasons.
“I was always a Brad Paisley fan growing up and I can’t really think of anybody that doesn’t like Brad,” the Alabama native shares. “You know, he’s got a real fun personality and he’s been doing it for a long time. So, to even get asked to be on that tour is such a big honor. But then you start looking at me getting in front of his crowd and potentially getting some new fans.”
Along with the opportunity to gain a few new fans, Green also hopes to learn a few things from the former CMA Entertainer of the Year.
“[With] it being my first major tour and going out in support, me and my band and my crew could probably learn a lot of stuff that’ll help us down the road in our career,” he admits.
Before hitting the stage each night, Green will likely be found enjoying one of the major perks of Paisley’s tour: catering.
“I’ve heard about his catering being top notch in the backstage area,” he explains. “We’re used to beef jerky and protein bars on the bus, so it’ll be very refreshing to go have a nice meal before or after a show. That’s something I’m looking forward to.”
To satisfy fans’ desire for more new music, Green plans to continue to release new music throughout the year.
“As long as they are hungry for it, we will keep putting out new music,” he promises.
On Friday, he’ll release a new EP entitled Get That Man A Beer. The four-song collection features the brand new song and title track, “Get That Man A Beer,” his current single, “In Love By Now,” plus two previously released fan favorites, “Bettin’ Man” and “Numbers On The Cars.”
