It was a hot and sticky Thursday in Philadelphia when Priscilla Block rolled up to the Theatre Of The Living Arts in her white touring van. The rising star was on-hand as direct support for Ashley McBryde on the This Town Talks Tour, marking her first major tour and debut performance in the City of Brotherly Love.

Admitting life as a touring artist is a bit “unglamorous,” Block invited Country Now to join her for the day to capture a behind-the scenes and unfiltered look at a day on tour.

“A lot of people think that I’m in some big tour bus, but we’re actually rolling in a church van and that can get unglamorous sometimes you know,” the 26-year-old acknowledges. “We’ve got six people in a tiny van with all of our instruments in it and it’s sleeping against a window when you can.”

Though the sleeping conditions are less than ideal, one would never know Block is sleep deprived. She was all smiles and full of energy as she went about her day.

The songstress welcomed Country Now to the show with open arms, but that was really no surprise. Those who follow her on social media have quickly come to realize Block is as authentic as they come as that’s how she built her career in the first place. Her viral, unfiltered TikTok videos landed her a record deal and fueled the release of her self-titled debut EP.

Her success, however, is proving to reach far beyond TikTok these days as her debut single, “Just About Over You,” recently made its way into the Top 20 at country radio and shows no signs of slowing down.

Block is flying high on the touring front as well. Her schedule includes dates with McBryde planned through early 2022, something the North Carolina native describes as a true “honor.”

“I’ve been a big fan of her for a long time, so it’s really cool being able to open up for somebody that you’ve looked up to for so long,” she says.

In addition to touring with McBryde, Block’s schedule includes popular country festivals, and as her single continues to make its way up the charts, it would come as no surprise to see her booked on a major 2022 tour.

For now though, a day in the life with Priscilla Block consists of load in, sound check, interviews, glam, a 30-minute set, meet and greets and load out. And while things may not be all that glamourous, Block embraces each and every day of tour life with her road family by her side.

Her close-knit band consists of Sarah Jones (guitar), Joe Bart (drums), Steven Bierman (bass), and Jake Curry (guitar). Her longtime friend, Kara Zagorskie, serves as her tour manager.

Her set includes “Wish You Were The Whiskey,” “I Bet You Wanna Know,” and her Top 20 and climbing radio single “Just About Over You,” a song that ignited a roaring sing-a-long. In addition to songs from her Self-Titled EP, Block performed her fan-favorite track “Thick Thighs,” a country rendition of Lizzo’s “Truth Hurts” and a cover of Shania Twain’s “Any Man Of Mine.”

Each night, before they take the stage together Block and her band share what they’re thankful for in that moment. It’s safe to say they have a lot to be grateful for these days…and it’s only just the beginning.
