The official trailer for Reba McEntire’s brand-new sitcom coming to NBC this fall, Happy’s Place, is out now.

Within this preview, viewers get a first look at the comedic storyline behind the multi-cam project as well as a few of McEntire’s cast mates who already seem to be bringing tons of entertainment to the set.

The clip opens with McEntire’s character Bobbie discovering some very unexpected news following her dad’s passing. Not only does she learn her father secretly had a second family and she now has a half-sister (played by Belissa Escobedo), but she learns she has also inherited his tavern, Happy’s Place. Amid all these major life changes, the “Seven Minutes In Heaven” singer comes face-to-face with some important decisions and is reminded of the importance of family.

Fans will see some familiar faces working with McEntire in the new sitcom, like her real-life boyfriend, Rex Linn, who plays the tavern’s short-order cook named Emmett and Melissa Peterman. McEntire and Peterman have co-starred in several shows together including the 2000’s sitcom RebaWorking ClassBaby Daddy and Young Sheldon, but they have already remained great friends outside of work.

Other cast members include Pablo Castelblanco and Tokala Black Elk.

Reuniting With Former ‘Reba’ Producers

Although Happy’s Place will not have any connection to the Reba series, which ran from 2001 to 2007, it will find McEntire reuniting with Kevin Abbott, Michael Hanel and Mindy Schultheis, who all worked as executive producers on Reba. In addition to the former Reba collegues, Julie Abbott will also serve as executive producer.

“It’s whole new characters, a whole new scenario and a lot of our same team,” Peterman told Entertainment Weekly. “The dynamic is gonna be that dynamic that we have, that natural one.”

She also told the outlet she is “so excited” to get to work with the team again, and went on to boast about the fact that the country music legend is returning to the small screen.

“She’s like coming home,” Peterman said. “I think that in this business, we have a lot of ‘Hollywood friends’ — friends that you share just the good stuff with. I think I knew that when we started sharing real-life stuff, that it was forever. I know she’s got my back whether we ever work together again. She is on my side always, and she knows I’m on hers.”

McEntire Is Having “A Blast” On Set

McEntire also told the outlet that she has “so much fun” working on sitcoms and is already having “a blast” on the set of Happy’s Place.

“(It’s) lots of fun. I love all genres of entertainment, but the sitcoms are just so much fun, because it’s a brand-new script every week,” she explained. “And you’re just having fun. It’s really hard memorizing all the dialogue you have to do, but it ain’t my first rodeo, girlfriend. Absolutely, I do love it. And it’s just playtime. We have a blast with it.”

McEntire added that fans can expect the show to offer plenty of fun and laughter on top of the heartfelt origins.
