Iconic country music duo Sugarland made its long-awaited return with the release of the four-song EP, There Goes The Neighborhood

Out now, the project boasts everything fans have come to love and expect from the duo, including Jennifer Nettles’ signature vocals, Kristian Bush’s harmonies and unmatched musicianship, and the genre-bending sounds the duo rose to fame with.

“In a world that is increasingly becoming more digitally fabricated and fractured, it’s nice to play with the timeless wisdom of how ‘newer doesn’t always mean better’ throughout the new EP, and it’s always exciting to celebrate some new Sugarland music!” Jennifer Nettles shared following the release of the project.

Hear The Standout Title Track

The collection kicks off with the title track, which stands out as the highlight of the EP. “There Goes The Neighborhood” perfectly embodies the essence of Sugarland, both musically and lyrically. It feels familiar. It feels good. If the label chooses to send a song to country radio, this would be the one.

Of the remaining three tracks, the other standout is the piano-driven breakup ballad “Georgia Is Yours.” It’s certainly relatable and Nettles’ delivery is the perfect blend of emotional and sexy.

Cutting Outside Songs

Fans may notice that neither Nettles nor Bush had a hand in writing any of the songs on the EP. Bush says they took a different approach to this project and decided to record outside cuts instead of self-penned ones.

“For this EP, we decided to reach out to some of the best songwriters in Nashville and ask them to send us their best songs. Typically, we write or co-write most of our songs, but with a town full of the world’s best creators, why not experiment and see what we could find,” he explained.

Kicking off on October 24 in Greenville, SC, at Bon Secours Wellness Arena, the trek runs through December 2024, with stops in Boston, Pittsburgh, Austin, and more. The tour concludes on December 13 at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, TN.

“I’m so excited to be out on the road again with Jennifer and with our dear friends Little Big Town…Can’t wait to play these new ones loud and hear everyone sing along,” Bush added.

To celebrate the upcoming run of shows, Sugarland will join Little Big Town in headlining TODAY’s Summer Concert series on Monday, August 12. The duo will deliver the debut performance of “There Goes The Neighborhood” and will likely join LBT for a performance of their “Take Me Home’ collab on the show.

Sugarland was founded in 2002 and dominated the country music scene for several years. Together, Nettles and Bush released hit after hit, including “Baby Girl,” “Something More,” “Want To,” “Settlin’,” “Already Gone,” “Stay,” “Stuck Like Glue,” and more.

In 2020, they were set to return to the road, however, COVID sidelined their touring plans.

Although the duo promised “fresh music” was on the way, nothing was released…until now.
