Justin Moore has been honored by his hometown of Poyen, AR in a big way (literally). On Wednesday, August 7, the multi-platinum-selling country artist took part in a celebration alongside Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders, who assisted in unveiling the new ten-foot roadside sign at the entrance of the city that reads, “Welcome To Poyen, Home Of Justin Moore.”
Family, friends, and members of the industry came together to commemorate the milestone moment for Moore, who appeared to be filled with joy during the ceremony.
While reflecting on this “great honor,” Moore admitted that earning his own massive road sign wasn’t something he ever envisioned for himself, however, he remained humble and expressed the utmost gratitude for the city’s constant support throughout his entire career.
“I would never have expected, or asked, for this, but I’m so thankful to our city officials and David Bazzel for spearheading this effort,” Moore said in a new statement. “I’m not one who finds comfort having praise heaped upon himself, so this is a proud moment, but a bit tough for me. I’m hopeful that I have contributed to my beloved city, as much as it has to me.”
He also shared his great desire to keep acting as a representative for small towns all across America, especially the one that raised him.
“Furthermore, I hope to continue to wave the flag for small town USA all over the country, as I believe it is the fabric that makes this country the greatest on earth,” Moore added in conclusion.
New Song, “Put A Boot In It”
This news follows the release of the country artist’s new song “Put A Boot In It.” Just as he does with his pride for rural communities, this tune finds Moore speaking up for what he believes in. Except this time, he’s calling attention to the current state of country music and the rise in genre-bending artists making their way into the industry.
The unique storyline offers something different than Moore has ever done before, as it aims to call out those who come to Music City with their unauthentic country twang with a goal of making a profit out of a lifestyle that they have never truly lived. Despite the fact that Moore is expressing his opinion in a blunt fashion with these lyrics, he assures that his goal wasn’t to bring offense to anything, but instead to have some lighthearted fun with his listeners.
“It’s a song that was just an attitude. It’s a Honky Tonk, kind of fun tune that’s basically about keeping country music… well, you know, twangy, and REAL country,” says Moore. “It’s definitely tongue-in-cheek and isn’t meant to be offensive by any stretch to any other artist out there who does the other stuff.”
“Put A Boot In It” was produced by the multi-platinum-selling artist’s longtime collaborator Jeremy Stover, and written by Moore with Will Bundy, Randy Montana and Jeremy Stover. It marks yet another look into his forthcoming album, expected out this Fall.
Beginning September 5, Justin Moore will embark on a co-headlining tour with Randy Houser. The trek dubbed the Country Round Here Tonight Tour will run through October with special guests Sadie Bass and Austin Mitchael.
