Season 28 The Voice contestant, Kayleigh Clark gave such an impressive performance during the Battles against her fellow Team Niall Horan contestant, Camille Tredoux, that she earned comparisons to two of country music’s biggest stars.
The pair of female singers came together for a stunning delivery of Kelsea Ballerini and Noah Kahan’s GRAMMY-nominated duet, “Cowboys Cry Too.” Kayleigh, donning a delicate white lace dress and tall cowboy boots kicked off the performance, allowing her Mississippi twang to shine through the country ballad. Her counterpart, Camille, stepped outside her comfort zone as she tapped into her softer, country storyteller side that the audience had yet to see.

All four The Voice coaches were captured smiling and nodding along as the pair of powerhouses took over the stage with their vocals intertwining seamlessly. At the end of the delivery, the talented artists earned a standing ovation from the room.
When it was time for the coaches to offer their feedback, Reba McEntire first to share high praise and even compared the singers to a few of the biggest names in the business.
She said, “Camille, I love your voice. It’s got a little bit of Stevie Nicks on the end, but then the roundness at the beginning…And then Kayleigh, you’re a cross between Miranda Lambert and Carrie Underwood with your vocals. I don’t know. I guess I’d go with Kayleigh.”
Michael Bublé pointed out the fact that while this clearly would not have been Camille’s first song choice, he was impressed that she was able to tap into the storyline and embrace it in full force.
“Camille, you have such a cool voice. I know this song might not have been, if you had the choice, the first thing you would choose, you might do something a little more Rock and ‘70s. But the fact that you did it and you did the way you did it just is really a testament to what a great artist you are, what a great singer you are,” he noted. “Kayleigh, you have such a clear tone. And maybe because of that, I might give you the edge today, Kayleigh. But in saying that, Camille, you’re amazing too.”
Snoop Dogg once again withheld from sharing his opinion on who should win this battle round, and instead offered nothing but praise to each of the vocalists.
“Camille, you are a true voice and you can really move your voice around in different genres of music, and I was thoroughly impressed and entertained. Great job,” he shared before giving his feedback for Kayleigh.

“Kayleigh Clark, you came on strong, crystal clear like I’m not singing someone’s song. I’m singing my song. You put a lot of you in there.”
He offered words of encouragement to both women, saying that no matter who advances, they’ve already made it in his eyes after delivering such a powerful performance.
Niall Horan was last to speak on his team members. When the spotlight was finally on him, he joked that these two artists should never have been paired up as they are both far too good to lose from his team.
“I think. Camille, you were absolutely brilliant. Your tone really stands out. And Kayleigh, the song was perfect for you. You sing it so clean, so clear. I wish I had a Holy ghost to speak to,” he said as a plea for help in this tough decision.

Unfortunately, there can only be one winner to remain on his team. That being said, Horan thanked them once again for a great performance before choosing Kayleigh Clark as the winner of this battle round.
“That was one of the tougher decisions I’ve had to make,” he admitted. “Kayleigh is special. Kayleigh’s like a mini Carrie Underwood herself. She has so much control over everything she does in low range, in high range. Everything about her is just the perfect singer.”
This result means that Camille Tredoux has been eliminated from the competition while Kayleigh Clark will move forward to the knockout rounds.
The Voice airs Monday’s and Tuesday’s on NBC.
