WATCH: Aubrey Nicole and Cori Kennedy Set ‘The Voice’ Stage Ablaze With Miranda Lambert and Carrie Underwood’s ‘Somethin’ Bad’

“It’s always really scary when two of the greatest singers pair up because you know something’s going to happen, something bad,” coach Reba McEntire told them.

The Voice contestants Aubrey Nicole and Cori Kennedy showed what a true performance in the battle rounds should look like. These powerhouses brought the heat to the stage with their rowdy delivery of Miranda Lambert and Carrie Underwood’s “Somethin’ Bad.”

Their revengeful attitude raged through the microphones as the pair of female acts embraced the fiery country/rock anthem. The coaches and fans were on their feet as the singers traded lines and harmonized effortlessly with an unforgettable grit and fierceness. Their chemistry was palpable while delivering the lyrics around raising a little unapologetic hell and preparing to “tear it up down in New Orleans, just like a real-life Thelma and Louise.”

The performance was so good that Michael Bublé joked that, despite previously saying if he could be anyone, he’d be Reba McEntire, that didn’t apply in this moment because he wouldn’t want to be the one deciding which singer goes home.

“I don’t know how she could choose one of you over the other, because for me it’s impossible,” he said honestly. “Aubrey, you crush. Cori, what the hell? That was so awesome. Sorry, Reba. I’m sorry that you have to do what you have to do, but you have to do it.”

Snoop Dogg first turned his attention to Reba, and praised her ability to find talent that none of the other coaches might have seen at first.

“You always find people that you see something in them and once we get a chance to hear them after they sat with you, we see and hear the excellence that you seen when we probably had no clue.”

He then looked to the female singers to say, “Y’all made something bad, something good. That felt good. I was over here singing the record. I thought I was Carrie Underwood. I was over here enjoying the way that y’all started off together. That’s sisterhood, that’s family, that’s love. So I want to commend y’all for that.”

Before jumping over to Niall Horan for his thoughts, Snoop Dogg did something he doesn’t normally do. He shocked his fellow coaches when he decided to reveal Cori would be his pick for the winner of this battle round.

Horan was up next. He chimed in saying, “That was a real battle. That’s how you do it. And as you were singing together, you could still hear the two voices very individually. Two very different voices. Cori, you were performing the hell out of it. You were giving it. Aubrey, flawless. You were on fire.”

The “Slow Hands” singer concluded his feedback by also naming Cori as his vote.

After hearing all the thoughts and opinions from her fellow coaches, it was Reba’s turn to commend her team members.

“Aubrey, Cori, great job. Such powerful voices. And it’s always really scary when two of the greatest singers pair up because you know something’s going to happen, something bad,” she joked in reference to their song choice. “But I totally enjoyed what you gals put together. And it was good in rehearsal, but it just went up. Thank y’all for putting all the work.”

The country legend ultimately sided with her fellow coaches and named Cori Kennedy the winner. But just moments later, things took a surprising turn as Reba and Snoop Dogg found themselves in a battle of their own. The “Fancy” singer wasted no time hitting her save button for Aubrey, only for Snoop to immediately counter with his Steal button.

The rapper then revealed that he had a plan all along to get Aubrey on his team.

“Aubrey just performed her ass off. That was a hell of a performance. I actually said Cori so that Reba could take Cori, so that I could take Aubrey. So half of the plan worked. But it’s just the other half. I didn’t think [Reba] would save Aubrey,” Snoop explained.

Reba wasn’t about to back down and let her team member go without a fight.

“Aubrey, I think you oughta stay on my team because we are having fun. I know your potential and we can keep that ball rolling,” she said.

That was all Aubrey needed to hear for her to make the call to remain with Reba.

“Snoop, I love you, but, I’m going to have to go with my girl,” she said.

Cori later took to social media to celebrate not only her win, but also her opponent’s win.

“Going into this battle, Aubrey and I had one shared goal: TO PUT ON A HELL OF A SHOW regardless of the outcome🔥 To win this battle was incredible, but to see our hard work pay off for the both of us was the cherry on top,” she wrote.

Aubrey Nicole and Cori Kennedy will both move forward with their The Voice journeys.

The singing competition show airs Monday and Tuesday on NBC.
