As Lauren Akins prepares for the release of her first book, LIVE IN LOVE: Growing Together Through Life’s Changes, her husband, country superstar Thomas Rhett, is sharing his thoughts on her revealing new memoir.
Out August 18, LIVE IN LOVE: Growing Together Through Life’s Changes, offers readers advice about balancing family life while trying to keep a romance alive. The memoir will also provide guidance about expressing your true faith and living a life of purpose.
Although Rhett, who admits he doesn’t read books, may be a bit biased, he thinks her book is truly something special.
“The last book I read was Harry Potter,” he jokes, “but this book is absolutely fantastic, and I am biased because she’s my wife but I think it’s a really, really great read and I think it’s gonna encourage and inspire a lot of 7 and 8 year old girls and also inspire a lot of people a lot older than 7 and 8. Just to learn that your decisions have weight and your words have weight and to really think about the choices you make in life. And it’s truly inspiring.”
While he loves the book in every way, the “Be A Light” singer admitted it was sometimes tough to get through as it includes some very personal details about their lives.
“It’s hard to read in the best way. This book really gets into severe detail of the adoption process, of what it was like when we first had kids and what it was like when I first got on the road and she had just graduated from Tennessee with a nursing degree and didn’t use her nursing degree,” he explains. “[It also] talks about her childhood and what shaped her into the person she is now. And I mean, it’s a memoir. So you have to be really invested to know that this is a story of her life.”
To celebrate the release of LIVE IN LOVE: Growing Together Through Life’s Changes, Lauren Akins will host a virtual book tour to discuss the memoir. Details about the upcoming book tour can be found HERE.
