Tucker Wetmore unveils yet another look into his forthcoming debut EP, Waves on a Sunsetwith the just-released new track, “Silverado Blue.”

There’s nothing quite like that first taste of young love, when the emotions are high, and the memories being made are never forgotten. Wetmore uses his gritty southern charm to capture this phase of life throughout the just-released track as he depicts the highs and lows that come with that kind of love that rarely lasts forever.

Although a tinge of pain curses through the lyrics, the story is paired with a mid-tempo tune that allows the listener to celebrate that chapter, even if it didn’t work out as planned at the time.

“This song embodies that young love feel,” Wetmore shared in a statement via press release. “I picture people listening to this song with their windows down, riding down the road, thinking about that young love they might have once had that was gone too soon.”

Penned by Wetmore with Brett Sheroky and Dan Wilson, the relaxed country anthem starts by cleverly painting a picture of a couple’s last night together. Wetmore sings from the viewpoint of a man grappling with confusion as he clings to every ounce of love for his partner, fully aware that they are about to part ways.

“This one road out of here don’t come back/ And you’ll be on it tomorrow while I’m sittin’/ In this here cab already missin’,” he delivers in the opening verse.

Wetmore continues to show maturity in the chorus while living out the saying, “If you love someone, let them go.”

He sings, “You in the shotgun dashboard drummin’/ Freedom in the wind them Michelins hummin’/ Forever on our lips even though it wasn’t true/ We put some moonlight miles and memories in it/ It might still shine but who am I kiddin’/ Lookin’ over there and not seein’ you/ Is gonna turn this red Silverado blue.”
