Tyler Hubbard and Wife, Hayley, Pull Kids from Traditional Schooling to Start a Homeschooling Journey
“We won’t have it perfect at the beginning for sure, but we’re going to try it and see how it goes,” Hubbard admits.

Tyler Hubbard reveals he and his wife Hayley have made the decision to homeschool their two sons, Luca and Atlas, and daughter Olivia.
Up until this point, all three kids attended a Montessori school, however, the couple has since come to the conclusion that they would prefer to be in control of their kid’s teachings. Plus, homeschooling allows them to be more flexible in their ability to be on the road as a family.
“I feel like even just our headspace has already shifted knowing that we’re going to be homeschooling, like the way that we try to teach,” Hubbard recently told Country Now and other outlets. “But then I was thinking about it, as parents, you do homeschool your kids, you teach them day in and day out…So I think it’s going to be magnified a bit and multiplied, but we don’t necessarily need to send our kids to school for eight hours a day to let someone else teach them whatever they’re going to teach.”
Growing up, he found that traditional school wasn’t an ideal fit for him and now seeing his kids grow into “really gifted” and “super smart” beings, the country singer hopes to open up their opportunities to learn beyond the typical teachings inside a classroom.
“I think at this age, they’re really excited about it, and I think it also is kind of just a season where Hayley and I have been growing a lot as parents and this kind of forces you even deeper into the parenting space and really being accountable for how you raise your kids and what you’re teaching them.”
Even though Hubbard admits there is some fear around this next step in their lives, he assures that they are feeling ready to take on the challenge of the unknown and enjoy the ride of figuring it out as they go.
“We’ll obviously have a regular curriculum, but I think the majority of the lessons I’m excited about are going to be life skills and social skills and owning up when you mess up and just things that we all teach our kids anyways as parents, but just being able to live it out, to be around each other more, to get to share stories and make memories together and just all those kinds of things…We won’t have it perfect at the beginning for sure, but we’re going to try it and see how it goes. I think it’s going to be a lot of fun,” he added.

Tyler Hubbard’s kids are no strangers to sharing the stage with him every now and then, but with the new flexibility of getting to learn on the go, they’re likely to be spending even more time on the road.
This comes just in time for Hubbard’s STRONG World Tour, which kicks off on September 6 in Indianapolis. The trek will include dates across the U.S., Canada and Australia before wrapping up with a final show at Nashville’s historic Ryman Auditorium.
