Rising country star Ashley Cooke has been no stranger to wearing her heart on her sleeve. Since she first started gaining attention via social media, she has been open and honest with fans about her dating life from exes to new relationships and even tough breakups. With her latest release, Cooke is moving on to the next chapter as she prepares to get “Back In The Saddle.”

This song penned by Jordan Minton, Josh Kerr and Jordan Reynolds serves as a new empowering anthem to add to her resume as Cooke approaches her readiness to put herself back into the dating pool. She approaches this intimidating step head-on with her humbled vocals and easy-going narrative. “Back In The Saddle” showcases the reality that comes from that post-breakup feeling of uncertainty.

“This song comes from somewhere in the middle of being heartbroken and moved on. It’s all about putting yourself out there again, no matter how high you’ve built your walls. Here’s to getting back in the saddle, Whether that’s just for the day, for the night, or for however long it takes to put that old relationship in the past,” Cooke shared in a recent press release. “I’ve been there and I know a lot of other people can relate too.”

The ”Never Til Now” singer has been teasing her new single on social media with a clip of the music video that showcased her comfortably holding hands with someone new. After receiving numerous guesses in the comments, it was finally revealed that viral TikTok star Tayler Holder is the one who was cast to play her love interest.

In the video directed by Alexa Campbell, the two run into each other at a bar while both looking to move on from the memories of their failed relationships. They seemingly hit it off as they chat over some whiskey and inch closer to the dance floor. They continue to two-step the night away as they enjoy being newly single. By the end, viewers are left wondering if this is the start of a budding romance or if it was just merely a night out with good company.

While the story plays out, Cooke is also filmed in the picturesque setting at Rebel Ranch in Ashland City, Tenn.

“Getting back in the saddle / Putting boots in the gravel / Leaving her memory in an ole dust cloud / Ditching this missing him merry go round / Baby whatever we say / We been drinking and we ain’t / Trying to ride off into a red sunset / No this is just you and me trying to forget / Getting back in the saddle,” she sings in the chorus.

Holder garnered a huge following on social media from his videos on TikTok, but he has recently made it a point to focus on his music career. The young singer made his country debut when he performed with Reyna Roberts during CMA Fest and he’s officially stepped into the industry with the release of his own love song, “It’s You.”

“I want people to be able to play this song with their girlfriend, husband, whoever and relate to them personally,” he told Taste of Country. “There are so many people out there that the person they are with is something completely different.”

“Back In The Saddle” follows Cooke’s previously released singles this year, “Getting Into” and “Never Til Now” featuring Brett Young, along with her 9-track project, “Already Drank That Beer.”

Ashley Cooke is currently on the road as direct support for Cole Swindell’s Back Down To The Bar Tour. She will make her Opry debut on October 26.
