Ashley Cooke recently received the surprise of a lifetime from Rascal Flatts’ Gary LeVox. He pulled out his guitar and revealed the news, in song form, that she will be making her Grand Ole Opry debut this fall.
“Ashley, I can’t wait to see you October 26,” he sang before adding, “at the Opry for your debut. I will be there, and I can’t wait to see you. I’m so proud of you and I’ll see you October 26.”
“Freaking Rascal Flatts Gary is introducing me at the Opry, what the heck,” Cooke said with tears in her eyes. “That’s so special, I can’t even explain.”
The singer shared the heartwarming moment captured on video to social media, earning a round of congratulatory messages from fans and fellow artists.
“I can’t believe this moment… I get to step into the circle at the grand ole opry,” she wrote in her caption. “This legendary place is country music’s home and getting to make my debut on a night Gary LeVox is performing, one of my childhood heroes/reasons I fell in love with this genre in the first place…I don’t even have the words. see you October 26, Opry.”
LeVox took to the comment section to share a few more words of support.
“No one more deserving. Can’t wait,” he wrote.
This exciting announcement follows the release of Cooke’s newest single, “Back In The Saddle.” This empowering breakup anthem penned by Jordan Minton, Josh Kerr and Jordan Reynolds serves as Cooke’s sign that she’s ready to get back into the dating world.
“This song comes from somewhere in the middle of being heartbroken and moved on. It’s all about putting yourself out there again, no matter how high you’ve built your walls. Here’s to getting back in the saddle, Whether that’s just for the day, for the night, or for however long it takes to put that old relationship in the past,” Cooke shared in a recent press release. “I’ve been there and I know a lot of other people can relate too.”
The ”Never Til Now” singer teamed up with TikTok star Tayler Holder for the music video behind this release.
Directed by Alexa Campbell, the two run into each other at a bar while making an effort to move on from the memories of their failed relationships. They seemingly hit it off as they chat over some whiskey and eventually make their way towards the dance floor. They continue to two-step the night away as they enjoy being newly single. By the end, viewers are left wondering if this is the start of a budding romance or if it was just merely a night out with good company.
While the story plays out, Cooke is also filmed in the picturesque setting at Rebel Ranch in Ashland City, Tenn.
“Getting back in the saddle / Putting boots in the gravel / Leaving her memory in an ole dust cloud / Ditching this missing him merry go round / Baby whatever we say / We been drinking and we ain’t / Trying to ride off into a red sunset / No this is just you and me trying to forget / Getting back in the saddle,” she sings in the chorus.
“Back In The Saddle” follows Cooke’s previously released singles this year, “Getting Into” and “Never Til Now” featuring Brett Young, along with her 9-track project, “Already Drank That Beer.”
Ashley Cooke is currently on the road as direct support on Cole Swindell’s Back Down To The Bar Tour.
