Keith Urban helped a couple reveal the gender of their baby during a recent concert in Orange Beach, Alabama.
The country superstar invited Shawn Fogle and his wife, Miranda, to the stage after spotting them in the audience holding a sign that read “Help Reveal Baby’s Gender.” The sign had an envelope taped to it with a question mark on it.
“This is what I love about you guys, you’re completely pregnant, you’re like, ‘Anyway, we are going to the concert, that’s what’s happening,’” Urban said from the stage.
The country hitmaker got to know the couple by asking them a few questions and quickly learned that they are originally from Indianapolis but currently reside in Navarre as Shawn is in the military.
“The consensus from the audience was largely girl and a handful of people said boy. Shawn’s got his hand up for boy,” Urban pointed out.
After asking for a drumroll, the four-time GRAMMY winner shocked the soon-to-be parents with the news.
“And the Academy Award for best baby makers, it’s a new category,” Urban joked. “It’s a boy! How about it? Who lost money right now?”
Concertgoers captured the memorable moment and shared to TikTok.
“Best gender reveal!!! Keith Urban helps reveal baby’s gender for this couple @ The Wharf, the TikTok caption reads.
Keith Urban is currently in the midst of his Speed of Now World Tour. During the show, the “Brown Eyes Baby” singer has been interacting with fans each night. Most recently, he serenaded a woman with “Happy Birthday.”
In July, he brought two sisters up on stage and had them call their brother from the stage. He hilariously left him a voicemail saying “Adam, where the hell are you?”
Urban’s tour runs through mid-December with stops in Chicago, Nashville, Atlanta and more. The trek also includes several tour dates around Australia.
Additionally, Urban recently released his new single “Brown Eyes Baby.”
Co-written by Will Bundy, Rodney Clawson, Josh Thompson and Morgan Wallen, “Brown Eyes Baby” finds Urban crooning over a heartbroken woman as he promises to help her move past the grief of a failed relationship.
“I can put the smile right back where your smile goes/ Dreams back in what you see when your eyes close/ I’ll be the buzz that you feel when you sip slow/ Slow dance right back in your dirt road/ I can put the sun right back in your sunshine/ Bring a little love back into your late night/ Ain’t gotta be nothin’ more than one more drink and maybe/ I can take the blue out of your brown eyes, baby,” he sings on the chorus.
Produced by Dann Huff and Urban, “Brown Eyes Baby” is reminiscent of the superstar’s earlier work and even brings to mind his 2016 chart-topper, “Blue Ain’t Your Color.”
“Brown Eyes Baby” is Urban’s first release since 2021’s “Wild Hearts.” The country hitmaker first debuted the song live on the TODAY Show.
