On Friday, Sept. 6, Ella Langley shared a memorable moment with fans of Chicago, IL as she stepped on stage and delivered her biggest headline show to date. The sold-out crowd filled the ACM award-winning venue, Joe’s on Weed St., and welcomed Langley to the Windy City with an outpouring of energy and excitement.

Accompanied by her incredibly talented bandmates, the songstress opened the show with a lineup of tracks off her debut album, Hungover, including the heartache-fueled, “Paint The Town Blue” the hell-raising “Better Be Tough,” the addicting “Nicotine,” the soulful yet burning tale in “I Blame the Bar,” and more.

A Dream Come True Night

She made sure to repay the warm welcome by sharing the utmost gratitude for all who came out and made this an unforgettable stop on her current headlining run dubbed, The Hungover Tour.

“This is the only thing I have ever wanted to do. There has never been anything else, there just wasn’t,” Langley shared with the crowd. “So thank you for making my dreams come true tonight, Chicago. I think we’re gonna have a damn good time tonight.”

The Alabama held nothing back as she proceeded to celebrate the milestone night by dancing around the stage, singing her heart out, and connecting with her loyal listeners by snapping selfies and signing merchandise.

Between songs, Langley stopped to reflect on her musical journey, explaining that there have been years of hard work involved in getting her to the point where her dreams are finally starting to become reality.

“I’m really grateful for a lot of things that have happened in my career and what I’ve got is determination. I don’t feel like I’m a lucky person, I think I have to work my a** off to get pretty much anything I want in life,” she said before introducing a song that had a major impact on the growth of her career in 2021 – “If You Have To.”

A party certainly ensued inside Joe’s On Weed St., thanks to the rowdy tunes in Langley’s catalog as well as her showstopping covers of Gretchen Wilson’s country classic, “Here For The Party” and Katy Perry’s “I Kissed A Girl.” She also slowed things down when she asked her band to exit the stage and performed acoustic renditions of “Cowgirl Don’t Cry” and “Cowboy Friends.” This allowed her to honor her early days of performing when it was just her, a guitar, and a mic.

Then, the moment everyone had been waiting for finally unfolded on stage. With just a few songs left in the night, Ella Langley welcomed her opener, Aaron Raitiere, to help perform her latest single featuring Riley Green titled, “You Look Like You Love Me.” This classic country story that was born from a pick-up line Langley once used on a guy in a bar instantly became a fan-favorite across social media and is now making its way up the charts at country radio.

In addition to becoming Langley’s most-streamed track to date with over 112 million streams, it has climbed into the Top 15 on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart and marked both Langley and Green’s highest debut on the Billboard Hot 100. Friday night’s concert-goers sang every word at the top of their lungs, turning the performance into a powerful sing-along.

After thanking Chicago and exiting the stage, the crowd’s insistent chants brought Langley back for a two-song encore. She stared in awe of all the love and support in front of her before closing out the night with the track that inspired the name of The Hungover Tour, and her collaboration with Koe Wetzel, “That’s Why We Fight.”

This marked just the fourth stop on her current run, which is slated to continue through November. The rising star is next scheduled to hit the stage in Fort Smith, AR on September 13.
