Emily Ann Roberts is turning internet trolls’ comments about her appearance into a hilarious new disguise while continuing her fun tour tradition with Thomas Rhett.

The country singer started “Operation Ticket Upgrade” while on the road with Rhett, going undercover each night to surprise fans seated in the back of the venue with ticket upgrades. For her latest mission in Phoenix, Arizona, Roberts took a different approach, using comments from social media trolls who have speculated that she has a baby bump as inspiration for her disguise.

“Y’all are commenting saying, ‘I see a baby bump.’ Did nobody tell you that that’s hateful to tell somebody that they look pregnant,” she said in a clip documenting her latest “Operation Ticket Upgrade.” “Nevertheless, if you can’t beat ‘em, join ‘em. Operation ticket upgrade in Phoenix, Arizona. It’s going to be a little bit bigger than usual. Let’s transform.”

Roberts used a Halloween fake pregnancy belly to complete the look, swapping her sparkly stage dress for a pair of jeans and a Thomas Rhett T-shirt before heading out into the crowd.

“Well, I hate this more than I thought I would, and I thought I was going to hate it,” she admitted. “I don’t know if it’s quite believable, but we’re working on a short timeframe and a tight budget. Okay? So it’s the best we can do. Let’s see what Chris Sasser thinks.”

She then found her husband, Chris Sasser, backstage to reveal her new look, and his reaction did not disappoint.

“Oh my heavens. Wow. Is it twins?” he asked.

Roberts quickly fired back, “Congrats, dad. It’s nothing at all!”

The couple eventually made their way into the crowd to carry out the latest round of ticket upgrades. Along the way, Roberts embraced the joke, looking at the camera and saying, “We might not have hits on the radio yet, but we have fun. And now, not only that, we have a miracle on the way.”

As she has done each night on tour, Roberts spotted fans in the crowd and surprised them with upgraded seats. One fan was even moved to tears after realizing who was behind the disguise, making the moment all the more special.

“Okay. I’d say that was the ideal operation ticket upgrade. Chris, maybe we should have a baby,” she joked at the end of the clip.

This week, Roberts will take a break from opening for Thomas Rhett to return home to East Tennessee for a run of shows at Dollywood. Her tour with Rhett picks back up on October 22.
