Congratulations are in order for The Voice Season 17 winner Jake Hoot and his wife, Brittney, as they are expecting their first child together.
The couple revealed the news on social media early Tuesday (March 22). The announcement included a video of the couple, alongside Macy, Jake’s daughter from a previous relationship, sitting in their bedroom.

The clip opens with Hoot and he goes on to sing the words of papers his daughter and wife hold up. They join him on the edge of the bed as he sings, “Life was sweet, you made it sweeter/ If life was complete you made it completer/ We didn’t know just how much we needed you/ Baby Hoot, comin’ soon.”
The couple then shares a kiss as Macy laughs in the background.
Jake and Brittney recently celebrated their first wedding anniversary and shared their first-ever duet in honor of Valentine’s Day.
The track, “Wherever Times Goes,” serves as a reminder to slow down and make every moment count before precious time slips away.
“Wherever it takes me, whatever the road / I’ll be just fine if it’s your hand I hold / When that hourglass empties all that I know is I want you to be wherever time goes,” the married couple sing in harmony, turning the slow-tempo tune into a timeless ballad fit for any sentimental ear.
“I think, as we get older, we get in such a hurry and such a fast-paced mentality that we tend to let so many precious moments pass us by without even realizing that we let it happen,” Jake recently told Country Now of the meaning behind the song. “I think taking a step back and going, ‘You know what? Time is a gift and being such a special thing as it is, and having somebody special in your life – and the beauty about this song, is it can also be compared to being with your kids too and being happy about the moment – and going, ‘I have so much time left on this earth, and in this life, wherever that time goes, I want it to be with the people I love.’”
Baby Hoot is expected to arrive later this year.
