Jelly Roll and Morgan Wallen went head-to-head in several categories of the 2025 iHeartRadio Music Awards, and both ended up taking home major wins during the elite event.
The show took place at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles on Monday (March 17) and aired on Fox with host LL Cool J. Some of the biggest names in music were celebrated throughout the evening, including those in the country music categories. Taylor Swift and Morgan Wallen were named the top nominees of the night as they both went into the show with 10 nods, followed closely by Kendrick Lamar, Post Malone and Sabrina Carpenter, each of whom earned nine nominations.
Wallen ultimately snagged a win for his collaboration with Post Malone, “I Had Some Help,” which earned a nod in three categories: Song of the Year, Best Collaboration and Country Song of the Year. The pair of genre-bending stars ended up snagging one win for Country Song of the Year.

His name also appeared in the genre-specific category a second time with his song “Cowgirls” featuring ERNEST. Both tunes were nominated among tracks like “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” by Shaboozey, “I Am Not Okay” by Jelly Roll and “World On Fire” by Nate Smith.
In addition to earning a mention for Country Song of the Year, Jelly Roll earned a spot in the Country Artist of the Year category and ended up taking home the title. He was vying for the award alongside fellow country acts, Kane Brown, Lainey Wilson, Luke Combs, Morgan Wallen.
Both artists were also nominated for Artist of the Year alongside Post Malone, however, Taylor Swift was crowned the winner of this star-powered category.

While neither Jelly Roll nor Morgan Wallen were present for the award show, they both submitted heartfelt acceptance speeches in honor of their wins.
During his celebratory message, the “Save Me” singer thought back to the 2024 iHeartRadio Music Awards when he triumphantly earned two wins for Best New Country Artist and Best New Artist Pop. Jelly Roll admitted he is “absolutely honored” to come back the next year and snag another win. Unfortunately, his current touring schedule did not allow him to attend this year’s show in person. He said, “I really wish I was there.”
“I was thinking about last year’s iHeartRadio Music Awards and I won the Best New Country Artist. To come back this year and win Country Artist of the Year is just unbelievable in every way it can be,” he stated.
He went on to thank fans for constantly calling radio stations around the country and requesting his songs be played over the air, and to the stations for believing in him and showcasing his singles.
“Thank you for all the support and all the love. Wish I could be there, but I’m on tour, baby. I’m spreading the music and bringing it to the people just like iHeart does. Love y’all, man,” he concluded.

Morgan Wallen kept his message short and sweet as he shared his own words of gratitude for his loyal listeners and iHeartRadio for all the continued support for his music. He also made sure to call out his duet partner, Post Malone who is responsible for making this hit collaboration happen.
“Thank you iHeart and all the fans out there who loved ‘I Had Some Help’ so much, you helped make this award happen. I had a lot of fun making this song and performing it with Post, so this win is really special. Appreciate y’all.”
In addition to all the epic wins, the iHeartRadio Music Awards featured a roundup of epic performances by Billie Eilish, Bad Bunny, GloRilla, Gracie Abrams, Kenny Chesney, Muni Long and Nelly. Plus, a pre-recorded performance from the opening night of Swift’s Eras Tour in Glendale, Arizona also aired during the show.
Fans can catch Morgan Wallen and Jelly Roll on the road in 2025 as they make their rounds with their respective tours.
