Morgan Wallen has just announced that he and Post Malone are teaming up once again for a new song called “I Ain’t Comin’ Back.”
The hitmaker dropped this major news on social media in a new post that featured a black and white photo of him and Malone with a guitar and lighter in hand. His caption revealed that the track will be out Friday, April 18.
“I Ain’t Comin’ Back” is one of several unreleased songs that Wallen has teased from his forthcoming album, I’m The Problem. Over the weekend, he shared an image of a sound wave alongside a snippet of the mid-tempo tune to his Instagram story. The post also hinted at the fact that the song would feature another artist, who was unnamed at the time.
“Might put this one out next but gotta check with the other artist on it first,” he wrote.
Within the introspective and gritty track, Wallen finds himself reflecting on a painful breakup that leads him to take matters into his own hands. A mix of vulnerability and resilience comes through in a set of powerful lyrics, honing in on his promise to never return to the town and place where his reputation will always live on. He also name drops Richard Petty and Johnny Walker Black, thus adding to the song’s rebellious energy.
“Half of this town/ Has got a name for me/ And I can’t say I don’t agree/ But the night I said I’m leaving/ I turned into Richard Petty/ Broke my heart so I got even/ In my 97 chevvy/ Now I’m walking on this water/ Mixed with Johnny Walker Black/ There’s a lot of reasons I ain’t Jesus/ But the main one is that I ain’t coming back/ Oh no I ain’t comin back,” he sings in the clip.

This will be the second time that Morgan Wallen and Post Malone have teamed up on a must-hear tune. The first was the Hot 100 No. 1 hit “I Had Some Help,” featuring Morgan Wallen, which appeared on Malone’s debut country record, F-1 Trillion. Fans became so captivated by this tune that is has continued to gain success and is currently nominated for Single of the Year, Song of the Year and Music Event of the year at the upcoming ACM Awards.
The drop also comes at the perfect time as Malone recently admitted to Billboard that he is working on yet another country focused album.

“I Ain’t Comin’ Back” uncovers yet another title on Wallen’s 37-song track list. While many still remain unknown, fans are slowly starting to see the entire project unfold. Along with Friday’s collaborative release, Wallen has also unveiled the title track, “Just In Case,” “Love Somebody,” “Smile,” “Lies Lies Lies” and “I’m A Little Crazy.” Plus, he secretly unveiled a few more tracks during his latest appearance on Saturday Night Live.
This upcoming release will join his just announced The Shop Sessions, a new series offering acoustic versions of tracks from his upcoming I’m The Problem album.

Wallen’s new album is set to arrive May 16 with 37 tracks that find him digging deeper into his personal emotions and experiences than ever before.
The East Tennessee native is next set to appear at his inaugural, all-genre Sand In My Boots Festival in May, followed by his 20-show I’m The Problem Tour.
