Kimberly Perry – “Fool’s Gold”
Kimberly Perry is back with her first release since June’s Bloom EP, which signaled her introduction to the world as a solo country artist. Out now via RECORDS Nashville/Columbia Records, Perry unleashes “Fool’s Gold,” an upbeat tune that highlights her dreamy vocals and clever storytelling skills and serves as the perfect addition to her new journey as a solo artist. Alongside the vibrant, upbeat melody, she shares direct connections to her journey of splitting with the former group, The Band Perry, returning to her roots in Tennessee and diving headfirst into the country music scene. In addition to dropping “Fool’s Gold,” Perry has announced Superbloom, an extended version of her highly celebrated Bloom project, due October 27.
“Fool’s Gold is about my experience out West, pursuing pop music, and chasing a so-called golden carrot,” Perry states. “While I needed that season and that adventure to discover more about who I am, all of it ultimately led me back home to Tennessee, to Johnny, and to Country music. Thank God for the dead ends, it’s where we get to spin around and start making our way to our truest selves.”

MaRynn Taylor – “In My Head”
MaRynn Taylor reveals a more vulnerable side to her storytelling in her brand-new song, “In My Head,” as she gets candid about the stresses that come with growing up and experiencing adulthood. The charming, upbeat melody is paired with a stint of clever wordplay that’s exposed throughout the honest lyrics as Taylor truthfully reveals that what she’s feeling on the inside doesn’t match what people see on the outside. Co-written by the female powerhouse with Kylie Sackley, and Jerry Jacobs, “In My Head” is produced by GRAMMY-winner Josh Kerr and marks the latest release from the Black River’s vocalist’s catalog of irresistible tunes.
“’Cause living in my head / There ain’t no white picket fence / There’s dead flowers on the front steps / Cracks in the walls, echoes in the halls real talk / It’s a whole hot mess / Skeletons in the closet / Monsters underneath the bed / And worst part of it is, I’m the one payin’ rent, yeah / Living in my head,” Taylor sings on the chorus.

Jonathan Hutcherson – “Go South”
Jonathan Hutcherson takes listeners back to his roots in Wilmer, Kentucky while also playing with the temptation of a former love in his latest release “Go South.” Inspired by the sounds of his upbringing, the new tune blends the rising singer/songwriter’s love for country with the small-town rhythms of bluegrass and even a touch of gospel. The stunning instrumentals highlight Hutcherson’s charming vocals as he holds onto the love he has for an ex by promising to be there to pick up the pieces if her current relationship ever does “Go South.” Co-written by Jonathan Hutcherson alongside Joseph Patton and Dan Wilson, the new release readies fans for his debut full-length album in 2024.
“I wrote ‘Go South’ for my hometown. It’s the place that made me who I am and it’s where I met a girl who I fell very hard for,” says Hutcherson. “This song is about growing up, moving on but always still missing where you left.”

Luke Grimes – “Burn”
Luke Grimes is offering another glimpse into his rustic Montana sound with the release of “Burn.” As his raw and imperfect vocals strike against the grain of the musty tune, the Mercury Nashville / Range Music recording artist tries sending a smoke signal to himself, warning that heartbreak is just around the corner. Yet, he continues to ignore these warnings and instead holds on for as long as he can. Written by Grimes with Randy Montana and Josh Thompson and produced by Dave Cobb, “Burn” gives fans a further look into the Yellowstone actor’s forthcoming eight-song EP, Pain Pills Or Pews, out October 20.
“‘Burn’ came from a simple classic rock style melody and the idea of running headfirst into a heartbreak, almost asking for it,” Grimes said in a recent statement. “The song always had a bit of Tom Petty vibe as he’s always been a big influence for me. Getting in the room with Randy Montana and Josh Thompson showed me what seasoned songwriters can do with a simple idea; I love how this track turned out.”

Josh Ross – “Ain’t The One”
Josh Ross paints a picture of pure heartache as he reflects on the fact that he “Ain’t The One” who gets to move on with the person he once loved. His country-rock sound invades the post-breakup stage of emotions that he and many others in the world know all too well. At the same time, the painfully honest narrative showcases Ross’ true knack for pouring his heart into his songwriting. Ross penned his most vulnerable song to date alongside Taylor Phillips, Jaxson Free, and Jon Kraft, while his frequent collaborator, Matt Geroux served as producer.
“My own relationships inspire my ideas,” shares Ross. “I feel most comfortable just being honest in the writing room with what I want to say. One of the hardest things about being in a relationship is sometimes knowing that the person is better off without you and this song is all about that. ‘Ain’t The One’ is one of the most personal songs I’ve ever written.”

Alexandra Kay gives a shoutout to all the friends who stick around through the ups and downs of life in her new song, “She Stayed.” Penned by the budding female star with Rocko Beall, the lighthearted tune comes in the form of a letter, as her sugary vocals illustrate a profound appreciation for the person who helped her fight through homesickness and was always cheering her on in the front row, even when distance tested their friendship. “She Stayed” is expected to appear on Kay’s upcoming debut album, All I’ve Ever Known, set for release on October 26.
