Life Lessons
With three decades in the books, McCreery dished to Country Now and other media about how he has grown not only as a person, but also as an artist during his 30 years of life, ultimately sharing some valuable words of wisdom to young folks across the globe.
“I think I still go back to a few years ago as far as maybe one of the biggest lessons I’ve learned in life, and it’s just about perseverance and being a fighter,” the North Carolina native began.
“I went through just some rough times there business-wise… I can’t complain too much about life, but business-wise, things were just not going great and I had two choices. I was like, ‘Well, it was a fun run. Five years is more than a lot of people get,’ or I was like, ‘Man, you got to pick yourself up by the bootstraps and put one foot in front of the other, and if you want to keep doing this, you’re going to have to fight,’ and I did that, and we came out the other end, you know, better than ever,” the ACM Award-winning artist explained passionately, before diving into how this has translated into his personal life as well.

“I think just through life, not just that one instance, but you know, with my relationship with Gabi, every day you have to wake up and fight for it… you gotta make it what you want it to be, because marriage, you know, as awesome as it is, ain’t nobody gonna say it’s easy,” McCreery pointed out. “Every day you gotta sit there and, you know, be persistent about making it what you want to be, and raising a kid, as awesome as it is, you know, it ain’t easy.”
Persistence
The “Cab In A Solo” singer said it all boils down to persistence and living life intentionally.
“Just being persistent [and] being intentional with how you live your life and what you want your life to be, I think that’s kind of what I’ve learned about myself that I’m able to do and willing to do,” he concluded with a grin.

To follow this important lesson the American Idol alum learned during his 30 years of life, McCreery dished about how this life experience will impact some of the new tunes he has on the horizon.
New Album Coming Soon
“I got started at an age where I hadn’t lived a lot of life, you know, and that used to bug the mess out of me when people would say, ‘What’s he gonna sing about? He’s only 17 or 18,’ the seasoned country star explained in the interview. “Now looking back, you know, at 30, I’m like, ‘Man, I hadn’t lived life.’ I hadn’t gone off and lived by myself, I hadn’t lost folks, I hadn’t gotten married… I’ve got all these more stories to tell, and I want to tell them, and I’m happy to tell them.”
With “more stories to tell” and even more years of life to come, McCreery’s forthcoming project is sure to be nothing short of spectacular.
