As Scotty McCreery prepares to go on a double date with his wife and one of his fans, the country hitmaker is looking back on his best and worst nights out.
McCreery, who wed his longtime love Gabi in June of 2018, says their favorite date nights usually revolve around one thing: food.
“I would say our favorite dates always involve food, ice cream, and probably maybe a movie or something,” the “In Between” singer recently shared with Country Now and other reporters.
“But Angus Barn is probably our favorite restaurant in North Carolina,” he continued. “They have a little chocolate chess pie with ice cream that knocks it all out!”
Although the couple has had their fair share of amazing dates, they’ve also endured some not-so-great experiences as well.
“The worst date I’d probably say was early on, I took her to Logan’s,” he explained. “I think there was food poisoning involved and it was… not a great night. At all.”
Scotty and Gabi, along with Carly Pearce and Michael Ray, Chris Lane and Lauren Bushnell, and Kane and Katelyn Brown recently teamed up with Bumble, the women-first social networking app, to offer fans a chance to win the ultimate double date night experience. Fans can enter via the Bumble app and four lucky winners and their best friend or date will receive a unique double date with one of the country couples.
Additionally, Bumble will make a $25,000 donation to the charity of each couple’s choice. The McCreerys’ charity of choice? St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
“St. Jude is just an awesome organization and they do incredible work,” McCreery said. “A few years ago, I had the pleasure of getting to go down there and meeting a lot of the kids…I had never been to a hospital like that, where the kids were smiling and [there were] just bright faces everywhere you looked.”
Those interested in a shot at winning a double date with Scotty and Gabi can download the Bumble app in the App Store or via Google Play.
