Rising country star Vincent Mason continues his streak of releasing expertly crafted breakup songs with the release of “Speak of the Devil.”

This highly relatable tune finds Mason grappling over a breakup and admitting that he’s finding it challenging to move on because his ex has reappeared in his life, both literally and figuratively. She pops up in his memories but also happens to be in the same bar. Despite the temptation, Mason reminds himself that reconnecting with the “angel dressed in red” will only lead to heartbreak and declares, “I’ll be damned if happens twice.”

“Speak of the Devil well she really ain’t that far/Speak of the Devil well she’s right here in this bar/ I feel the flame from her name/ Wish I’d known a little better/ She’ll take away everything/ She’ll wreck your world/ Oh if you let here/ Speak of the Devil,” he sings on the chorus.

The “fool me once” storyline is paired with an addictive melody that’s sure to have fans hitting repeat over and over.

Mason co-wrote the “Speak of the Devil” with Aaron Armstrong and Sutton Smith. This song is particularly special because it’s the first song Smith ever wrote.

“It’s not every day that you pull together a song with someone who has never written before. To be able to have my friend, Sutton Smith, get to have a first-hand experience on what the writing process looks like and then for him to receive his first songwriting cut makes this a moment and a memory that we’ll never forget,” Mason shared.

“Speak Of The Devil” follows the Interscope/UMG Nashville/Music Soup singer/songwriter’s previous releases “Heart Like This,” “Livin’ Proof,” and “Train Of Thought.”

His breakout single, “Hell is a Dance Floor” was released in February and has already raked in over 60 million streams.

Rapidly establishing himself as one of country music’s most exciting rising stars, Mason is currently working to build out his highly anticipated debut album, which he hopes to release in 2025.

Of the project, Mason recently told Country Now, “We always kind of steady drop singles and tease stuff and see what works. We can move really quickly when something starts to go and I like that because you don’t necessarily know what’s going to come out. But we’re also kind of grouping stuff together and slating stuff for a record, which if it was up to me, it’d be next year.”

Mason is currently on the road with Gavin Adcock on the Actin’ Up Again Tour.

“It’s been awesome. Those shows, the energy is just like, it’s one of one. Until you see a full live set, you can see the clips or whatever, you can see all that and know it’s kind of rowdy, but until you get out there, the energy really is awesome,” he said of the trek.

Next year, he will appear on select dates of Riley Green’s Damn Country Music Tour, plus additional dates that will be announced soon.
