Blake Shelton; The Voice 2021

In just a few short weeks, on September 20 to be exact, Blake Shelton will return to NBC’s The Voice for his 21st season.

Appearing on the show as the only coach to take part in all 21 seasons of the singing competition, Shelton is going into the next season more confident than ever.

“I’m the retuning champion of The Voice and I plan on winning,” Shelton declares in a just-released promo for the upcoming season.

The country superstar was referring to his eighth overall win on the competition when Cam Anthony took home the top prize at the conclusion of Season 20 in May.

Shelton previously won The Voice with Team Blake members Jermaine Paul (Season 2), Cassadee Pope (Season 3), Danielle Bradbery (Season 4), Craig Wayne Boyd (Season 7), Sundance Head (Season 11) Chloe Kohanski (Season 13) and Todd Tilghman (Season 18).

As the only coach with eight overall wins, Shelton says, “It’s fun to have your own TV show. This is mine. I’ve had this one for years.”

It appears Shelton will face stiff competition on the upcoming season as fellow coaches Kelly Clarkson, Ariana Grande and John Legend will do anything they can to block Blake from winning.

“Don’t pick Blake, whatever you do,” Legend says in the teaser clip.

Shelton is bringing along his longtime friend and fellow country superstar Dierks Bentley to advise his team throughout season 21.

“He is actually a great mentor, I’ve learned a lot from watching, I hate to give him compliments cause it gets weird,” Bentley said of Shelton in a clip with Access Hollywood, before Shelton added, “Can I sum it up here, the reason why we make a good pairing… Dierks knows when to hold ’em and I know when to fold ’em.”

Fans can tune in to The Voice on Monday and Tuesdays this fall beginning September 20.
