Kelly Clarkson covered Patty Loveless’ “I’m That Kind of Girl” on latest episode of The Kelly Clarkson Show during her ‘Kellyoke’ segment on Thursday (June 3).
The performance featured the Texas native singing the popular country hit while backed by her band and a backup singers. With her powerhouse vocals on full display, Clarkson delivered an impressive cover of the hit, once again proving she can sing just about anything.
“I’m That Kind Of Girl” was co-written by Matraca Berg and Ronnie Samoset, and was released in January 1991 as the third single from her album, On Down The Line.
This performance is one of several country covers Clarkson has shared on the show, including Billy Currington’s “Let Me Down Easy,” Faith Hill’s “It Matters To Me,” Pam Tillis’ “Maybe It Was Memphis,” Wynonna’s “No One Else On Earth” and Jo Dee Messina’s “Heads Carolina, Tails California.
Previous “Kellyoke” segments have featured covers of Blake Shelton, Johnny Cash, Lady A, Rascal Flatts, Travis Tritt, Shania Twain, Carrie Underwood and Kelsea Ballerini (just to name a few).
