With Valentine’s Day around the corner, people everywhere are likely scrambling to find their significant other the perfect gift. From fancy chocolates to jewelry, to elaborate dates, it’s easy to over-complicate the holiday.
Jon Pardi, who recently topped the charts at country radio with his latest hit “Heartache Medication,” won’t be rushing around to find the perfect V-Day gift, and that’s all thanks to his fiancée, Summer. The California native says she taught him a very important lesson about Valentine’s Day.
“One thing Summer’s taught me is that gifts are cool, and everything, diamonds, blah, blah, blah, but take your time and clear your mind and write something about what she means to you on a card,” he shared in a recent interview with his record label. “It’s probably the least expensive and the biggest price you can give her is just to write and tell her how much you love her on a little card.”
It’s that simple and Pardi says that’s his plan again this year.
“I just do that. It’s way cheaper,” he said with a laugh. “And of course, I always say to her, I say, ‘Babe-every day is Valentine’s Day for you.’”
Jon and Summer are in the midst of planning their May 2020 wedding, which will take place in Montana at a venue overlooking Yellowstone National Park. The couple got engaged on the stage of Nashville’s famed Ryman Auditorium after Pardi performed back-to-back sold-out shows at the prestigious venue.
